Cabin Monologue

I feel nice. I spoke to my friend after a long time. I don’t understand why he distanced himself over the last few years. We were so close in college. We also got a job in the same company. Both of us worked hard to get where we are today. Our means were different, so were our expectations from our position. Of course, I love my family but I wanted to enjoy the benefits that came with my powerful position. He didn’t agree with me. I guess that was the reason he stopped talking to me. I was really happy to talk to him today but then he started the same old nonsense. What does he mean that it will blow in my face? That I should change? Times are changing, he said. I wanted to shout back at him that nothing has changed and it never will.

The Rose Bouquet

When the doorbell rang at 2 PM, Ashima wanted to ignore it. She wasn’t interested in entertaining friends who often turned up unannounced and overstayed their welcome. She had realized that she had become a “close friend” to many since she acquired her fully furnished 2BHK. The friendly infringement round the clock was becoming extremely uncomfortable and tiring for her. So her first reaction to the unannounced guest at the door was not unfair. She wanted to send a message. But by the third bell, she realized this “friend” probably did not understand the subtle message and needed a stronger to-the-face message.

A Child's Play #100WordStory

Thump, thump, thump....there was somebody dribbling the basketball outside. "Rohan, come. Lets play", he shouted standing at the gate of Rohan's house. Nobody came out. He went to Akshay's house. "Akshay, please come out. There is no one else to play with. I am so bored." No response there too. He went to so many houses but no one came out. After all, no parent would let his child respond to this creepy voice and go out at 3:00 AM. So he played alone. Every day since that terrible accident killed him while playing on the same street.

Sponsors and Partners - Coffee with Authors and Artists

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

When Kaffeinated Konversations started its journey a couple of years back, there weren’t many who realized that community would grow at this pace. A thought of having an event about books or literature seemed too far-fetched then. But that did not deter them. Like-minded people came together and the community grew. People started noticing and joining in various forms.

There's more to Indore than just food - The Immersive Project- Literature, Art & all things creative

As the temperature soar this summer, the people of Indore take respite in their air-cooled homes and offices with ice-creams and chilled mango shakes. But a particular group of people can be seen running around from one part of the city to another with diaries and planners in their hands. The scorching sun does not deter them. Neither does the opinion of many people who think that Indore prefers food festivals over literature. Crazy, over-enthusiastic , just another start up looking for quick fame are some of the labels they have braved in the last few months when they announced “Coffee with Authors and Artists”, an exclusive event woven around all things art and literature.

In the name of #BookLove- Happy Birthday Kaffeinated Konversations

If you like reading, you will probably agree with me that it isn’t a very social hobby. You can’t read in a party or a social gathering after all, can you? Given a choice, we would like to stay in our rooms for days at a stretch with a book(s) to keep us company. We are often ridiculed for being anti-social or even crazy. Nobody understands the joy of reading and the whims of a bibliophile. Except the equally crazy people who think there is a parallel, even better, world in books. Like the folks of Kaffeinated Konversations, the book club of Indore.

Caution: Feminist Post Ahead

And one more International Women’s Day (and week) gone by! We did our bit. Shared our enthusiasm on the social media. Tagged the women we thought deserved a special mention. Used the word “empowerment” at least 25 times. Did some men-bashing while the men stood by and let us be. It was rightfully “our” day afterall. Had a blast in the evening with our girl gang. Or were pampered by the domestic men folk by a home-made treat and some respite from the mundane chores. Made best use of the offers and discounts showered upon us thoughtfully(?) by brands. Ooohh! What a day it was. So now that we are done feeling special, let’s get back to being real.

Genie in a capsule - Vitamin E #Evion

When in 20s, your skin has a shining glow that hardly needs any makeup. Your hair is healthy and vibrant. But when you cross the age-mark of 30, natural deterioration of cells starts and its first signs are visible on your skin and hair. As you close towards 40s, the signs become prominent. I was no different to this rule of nature.
